PsySR is going to the Rocky Mountains this summer for our own events while the American Psychological Association holds its convention in Denver, Colorado from August 3rd to 7th.
We hope to meet some of you in the Denver Embassy Suites hotel for sharing, planning, and collaboration. The address is 1420 Stout St., Denver, CO 80202 (Phone:303-592-1000)
The full schedule of our suite activities is available HERE.
On Thursday evening we will present “MIND ZONE: Therapists Behind the Front Line,” a documentary that follows clinicians with an Army Combat Stress Control unit as they deploy to Afghanistan to carry out two missions: protecting soldiers from post-traumatic stress and keeping these same soldiers in the fight. Jan Haaken, the psychologist who directed the film, will be with us to discuss the broader ethical questions about the role of psychology and other mental health professionals in keeping people in unhealthy places.
On Friday we will share events with Division 48, APA’s Peace Psychology division in a suite TBA.
On Saturday, after the APA’s Council of Representatives meeting, we will reconvene in the Embassy Suites for discussion about current APA reform issues, and presentations by members.
Look for more schedule information in the coming months! We hope to see our members soon. Registration for events is not necessary, but please RSVP so we know how many to expect.

Psychologists for Social Responsibility is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our members are psychologists, mental health professionals from all fields, other social scientists, researchers, teachers, students, and other activists. Our efforts and activities are supported primarily through membership dues, donations, and project grants. We can’t do our work and achieve our goals without you.
Our membership year begins June 1st. Membership dues paid now cover membership through May 2017. We have several membership categories: Regular Membership ($75), Financial Hardship Membership ($30), International Membership ($30), Student Membership ($20), and Sustaining Membership ($100).
Our membership categories reflect the recognition that members face differing economic circumstances. For those who are able, dues payments at our Sustaining Membership level help provide PsySR with the financial foundation necessary to pursue our work and offer reduced dues rates to others.
No one is denied membership in PsySR due to financial limitations. Individuals for whom the current dues structure represents a hardship are encouraged to contact membership@psysr.org to discuss alternative arrangements. Thank you.
